VIRTU/e

About Us

Team VIRTU/e started as a part of the Honors Academy at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2016. Since then, it has spun into a multidisciplinary student team that focuses on sustainability within the built environment. With the vision and mission in mind, team VIRTU/e used to regularly participate in the international competition: Solar Decathlon.

With innovative designs, materials, and building methods and collaboration with students from different studies we build exemplary sustainable houses of the future. 

Currently, the 3rd generation of team VIRTU/e, VIRTU/e 3.0, is working on a new project in hopes and endeavors to continue the legacy of previous generations.  We will participate in the 2024 Dutch Design Week where we are showcasing a housing densification concept in Eindhoven.

Team VIRTU/e 3.0 has been working hard to be part of the Dutch Design Week 2024, a week where designers from all over the world come to showcase their work in Eindhoven.

    We invite all alumni members of VIRTU/e to join us and hear about our upcoming project.

  • Lunch Lecture

    MAY 23 12:30 - 1:30

    Join us at Verigo’s Trappenzaal for a free lunch lecture where we present our team, goal, and progress.

    JUNE 3 6:00 - 9:00PM

    Join us at our office at Momentum for free drinks and chat with our team to know more about us and our projects.

FAQs

  • As long as you're a registered student in the Netherlands, you are welcome to join VIRTU/e!

    Although the team predominantly consists of students studying Built Environment, other disciplines such as business, electrical and mechanical engineering are also welcome!

  • Every academic year, VIRTU/e has two intakes into the team where you can apply. Our social medias are a good place to be informed about this!

  • The two previous generations of VIRTU/e have participated in the Solar Decathlon Middle East and Europe respectively. However, the competition in 2026 has been cancelled so VIRTU/e 3.0 is working on our own challenge to tackle locally in Eindhoven.
